Position Information

Job Title: Youth Minister

Position Type: Part-Time

Description: The youth minister will work in close connection with Central’s parents and leadership (elders, deacons, and other ministry leaders), leading the vision, culture, and health of our youth ministry.

Responsibilities:

• Culture

  • Pray for students and the church as a whole on a daily basis.

  • Lead by example in creating a culture where students are encouraged and taught to embody the character of Jesus Christ.

  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with students, parents, and church leadership.

  • Invest in the spiritual health of the students, encouraging them each to grow and mature in Christ. Actively recruit students to take next steps in their faith, taking on leadership and responsibilities as they grow.

  • Ensure that Central remains a place where students can grow in an environment that is emotionally, physically, and spiritually safe.

• Teaching

  • Teach one Bible class weekly on Wednesday nights.

  • Central does not currently meet for classes on Sunday due to the pandemic disruption, but the youth minister would need to be aware that this is a fluid situation, and we could potentially add another weekly class or group meeting.

• Events

  • Schedule and lead frequent devotional gatherings for the youth group.

  • Schedule and lead additional activities, particularly during the summer months.

• Community

  • Central is blessed with a well-connected community of churches here in Fayette, and has long participated in community-wide youth events. The youth minister would be responsible for participating with our neighbors in these events.

  • Central is blessed with Christian fellowship in Fayette that crosses denominational borders. The youth minister would be expected to maintain and promote this spirit of unity.
