Tony and Barbara Ash Looking Team

With a personalized touch and an extensive network, our Looking Team facilitates connections between churches seeking a new minister, and ministers seeking a new position.

The Looking Team is a long-time part of the Siburt Institute’s ministry, as we work to help churches looking for new ministers and ministers looking for new church roles. This ministry expands on the legacy of Dr. Charles Siburt, as several Siburt Institute team members meet regularly to discuss openings, candidates, and potential pairings. While we cannot guarantee a perfect fit, we do our best to facilitate “matches” with good potential for compatibility. Throughout the process, we’re careful to follow your lead on the level of confidentiality you prefer.

Our Looking Team

MINISTERS

To get started, fill out the Looking Team Interest Form to tell us about yourself and the type of position you seek. We will confirm that we have received your information, and we may coach you through updating your resume. As we share your name and resume with churches, you can expect to hear directly from those churches who would like to know more about you.

CHURCHES

To get started, fill out the Looking Team Contact (Church) form to let us know about your church, the open position, and your contact information. We will briefly touch base with you within a few business days of receiving your information. After that, someone on our team will reach out to you, and they will remain your primary Looking Team contact throughout the process. They may set up a time to talk with you by phone to learn more about what you’re looking for, then they will share multiple ministers’ names and resumes with you, enabling you to reach out directly to these ministers.

Working with the Looking Team has been a great blessing for me and my family. They were attentive to our ministerial goals, walked alongside us throughout the process, and ultimately connected us with a great church that we couldn’t be more excited about. In so many ways ACU and the Graduate School of Theology have taken care of us during our time in Abilene, and this service provided by the Siburt Institute has been like the cherry on top!

Namesake

The Looking Team is named for Dr. Tony and Barbara Ash, long-time supporters of the Siburt Institute. The Ashes were friends of Charles and Judy Siburt, ministered for decades and in various capacities all over the world, and ended their lives in Abilene after Tony's retirement from ACU's Bible faculty. Tony and Barbara made a generous estate gift to the Siburt Institute, and that gift furthers their legacy of ministry even beyond their earthly lives. We are grateful to name our Looking Team after this amazing couple, and we seek to bless God's kingdom through this work.
