Speaking Their Language: Aligning Spiritual Care with Organizational Goals
Research suggests that aligning spiritual care initiatives with organizational goals can positively impact holistic care for all. Through spiritual care, chaplains can partner with organizational concerns around burnout, staff retention, fostering resilience, and promoting wellness. The presentation will look at the relationship between spiritual care and organizational goals and highlight recent initiatives from Mission & Ministry at Hendrick Health.

WESLEY ERICKSON
Wesley Erickson is originally from London, England, where his parents have been missionaries for over 30 years. Wesley graduated with his M.Div. from ACU and recently completed 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Prior to his CPE experience, Wesley was working as a staff chaplain at Hendrick Hospice Care in Abilene and recently became the director for Mission & Ministry at Hendrick Health.
REV. LINDSEY GUERRERO
Originally from San Diego, California, Rev. Lindsey Guerrero currently serves as chaplain coordinator at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. In this role, Lindsey has the privilege of supervising and supporting the team of chaplains at the North campus of Hendrick Health. Lindsey completed her M.Div. and M.A. in Biblical Hebrew at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California, where she lived for 15 years after completing her B.A. in religion at St. Olaf College. She is an ordained minister with the PC(USA) but has spent her entire career working in healthcare chaplaincy. Prior to her relocation to Abilene in September 2020, Lindsey primarily served as a chaplain for pediatric hospices and inpatient pediatric palliative care units. She is a Board Certified Chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains, and she recently began pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree at ACU.
