Introducing Jennifer Schroeder

We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Jennifer Schroeder to the Siburt team as our new Summit director.

For over 100 years, Abilene Christian University has sponsored an annual gathering of believers for spiritual nourishment and fellowship, now known as Summit. For many decades of that history, ACU has employed an individual whose role on campus included overseeing that gathering, and we are pleased to add Dr. Schroeder’s name to the list of faithful servants who have performed that task.

Dr. Jennifer Schroeder

Dr. Schroeder served in congregational ministry for almost two decades, in addition to being an accomplished musician, teacher and scholar. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music from the University of North Texas, a doctorate from Michigan State University, and a master’s degree from Lubbock Christian University. Jennifer also holds a Doctor of Ministry degree from ACU. Jennifer has served in children’s ministry in congregations in Garland, Plano, and Houston, Texas, and most recently, she has served the North Atlanta Church of Christ in Georgia. Prior to coming to ACU full-time in 2022, she was already a partner with ACU’s College of Biblical Studies, having taught adjunct courses for the Department of Bible, Missions and Ministry since 2019.

Dr. Schroeder’s background and experience position her well to lead our Summit gathering. She combines experiences in universities and in churches, interactions with students and with ministers, and work in the classroom and the church. Further, as a children’s minister, she has been involved consistently with event coordination and leadership, volunteer training and support, communication with parents, and of course direct ministry to children. In other words, Jennifer’s background has prepared her extremely well for the variety of tasks and responsibilities that come with leading Summit.

As you can tell, we are excited to welcome Dr. Schroeder to our team in January! Her coming expands the Siburt Institute’s capacity to live out our purpose of equipping leaders and helping churches thrive.
