Church leadership these days continues to be rewarding, but it also continues to be difficult. Ministers, elders, and other church leaders face all sorts of challenges in our world, and yet, even though the circumstances may have changed, we retain opportunities to lead and influence our churches, our people, and our communities. At ElderLink Arkansas, we will discuss real-life, on-the-ground elements of church leadership, including aspects of faith formation, community engagement, leadership organization, and spiritual nurture. All of this, plus worship, good food, and spiritual encouragement.

ElderLink is a place to gather with other congregational leaders to tackle some of society’s most pressing issues. Through it, we seek to equip, encourage, and link those who serve as leaders in Churches of Christ, through collaborative relationships, informative resources, and shared learning opportunities.

Who Should Come?

Elders, spouses, ministers, deacons, and ministry leaders. Church leaders of all kinds can take advantage of this opportunity to connect with other leaders, sharpen their leadership skills, and experience spiritual refreshment.

TOPICS

Phil Brookman will begin and end our day with keynote addresses to all attendees. In between, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in breakout sessions that will help you sharpen your skills at teaching and passing on the Christian faith, work on ways that your church can serve in your community in times of crisis, consider different models of church governance amidst elderships and church staffs, and develop your “spiritual stamina” as you lead your church in life-giving practices. As a bonus, the afternoon will include a panel discussion in which you’ll get to hear from all five of our breakout session leaders.

SCHEDULE

Our morning will begin with registration, continental breakfast, a welcome, and a time of worship, followed by our first keynote address of the day. Afterward, we’ll have our first round of breakout sessions, followed by lunch. Then we’ll offer the same breakouts again so you can select a different one to attend. The afternoon will conclude with a panel discussion, a second keynote, and some concluding remarks. View the complete schedule, with descriptions of the various sessions, at this link.

RECORDINGS

All sessions will be recorded unless a speaker requests otherwise. All registrants will receive the recordings at no additional charge. We’ll deliver them via email after the event concludes and editing is complete. For non-attendees, recordings will also be available for purchase.

COVID PLAN

We will continually monitor the COVID-19 landscape. As the pandemic is a fluid situation, we will update registrants on our COVID precautions and procedures as the event comes closer. As we make our decision, we’ll take into account ACU guidelines, local conditions and policies in Arkansas, and practices at the host congregation.
